Service was friendly food was good, to much for me to finish. Will gladly go back.

Im visiting from Chicago & had a taste for soul food so i googled restaurants & actually went to another place first but they were carry out only. Called JDs to ask if we could dine in, he said yes so its there that we went. I am so glad i ended up there. The food was amazingly delicious. I had fried chicken with collard greens & mac and cheese. The were scrumptious (the sides). The greens were seasoned extremely well & the mac and cheese was cheesy but not dry....
Recently opened Soul Food restaurant. Chatred briefly with the Owner, looking forward to returning and interviewing him. The restaurant was a bit dark for me. Decorations celebrate prominent African Americans. I had a 4 piece fried chicken wing meal. Seasoned nicely, finished with some herbs. Wings were "complete wings" and large! Menu offerings include breakfast, lunch and dinner. Traditional Soul Food offerings with various chicken, fish and side dishes. Homemade desserts and teas.
JD's Soul food is a warm mom & pop in the building phase of ownership. This restaurant has some of the best and most flavorful food. The taste is consistent which is uncommon among Soulfood Dives. I recommend theme for a quite night kid free as well as a catering option.
