Amazing work.

I had three more paragraphs but I hit the character limit. I think the internet-age made us condense useful information on complex things. Summary: Damiano did a great job at a very competitive price.

Not only did they do the main second story roof, they also did the first floor extension which was a flat roof off the back of the house. I did not expect that, but it was part of the estimate and it came out awesome. I didn’t even add this cost when I measured the roof in units of “squares”. They even fixed a downspout and put up a small metal wall (water catching thing) around the downspout. They did not want me to have any problems with water. They threw rubber in the "box gutters" aka "Yankee gutters". They also flashed the neighbor’s chimney that was right against my roof. They added a chimney cap to one of the chimneys. And they did the ice shield up the roof 6 feet. They did not use the slightly inferior 3-tab shingles. The got architectural shingles and used a color to blend into the roof that my roof connects to. The roof connected right into the shingles from a neighbor’s roof.

Not a single nail was left behind. I got a magnetic sweep just in case I needed to clean up some loose nails but did not need it. The price was very good. I honestly wonder how they are so good at a better price than the other quotes I got so I asked them before they did the roof and they told me that roofing is their only business. I thought “ok, let’s see how this goes. I am not hearing from the other guys”. And, I wouldn’t have to pay until they were finished so that eased my mind too. Another quote was 3 times the amount that Damiano wanted. I think a lot of other companies don't know what they are doing and offer every service but don't do roofing as well as Damiano. I can honestly say I called every roofing company that I could locate in the area and Damiano was the best and they actually answered and followed through. Another outfit in Trenton (which was referred to me by a colleague at work) lead me on for a while and then didn’t get back to me so I found a way to get through to them to see what the issue was and they said they couldn’t do it. Some of the other contractors are not professional enough to follow through. If you ever dealt with contractors you know how nice it is to have a company answer the phone and call you back and actually do what they say they can do. I think we are all happy when we deal with professionals that understand the customer service side of the business.

Damiano Roofing replaced my 20 year roof. They beat all prices and did an excellent job. Five months later I received a call from the township advising the permit was never paid. I called Anthony and he took care of it the next day. He also explained how the township does not except payment with applying for the permit that’s why it was forgotten. Anthony and his crew were very professional and a pleasure to work with. I would give them an extremely high rating and would use them again

These guys did everything right. They installed metal "counter-flashing" on the brick chimneys. You want metal flashing that goes into the brickwork/mortar by about ½ an inch and not just a handyman who slaps some tar on the chimney and hopes it doesn't leak. Tar will leak in a couple of years. My insurance company (State Farm) knew about these problems from the previous owner and told me that I needed to fix it properly. Now I don't have the ceiling getting knocked down every time we get a heavy rain.

Damiano re-roofed a rental property for me. The main roof was something like 8 "squares". A square is a unit of roofing that measures 10 feet by 10 feet and is a very common term in roofing. Three packs of shingles can do a "square". Add a few squares to the size of your roof for the miscellaneous trim pieces and the starter strip of shingles. A starter strip is the strip of shingles at the bottom edge of a roof and up the edges of the roof. If you think about your roof in terms of units of "squares" you can calculate a reasonable price for a roofing job. There are ranges of prices online for “removal of a square” and “installation of a square” of shingles. The price I paid was at the low end of the ranges. So, I didn’t feel that I was overpaying for the roof by using Damiano Roofing instead of the other quotes I got. I also knew the pricing of some other roofs that friends had done in different parts of the country.
